MidLife Transition Workshops

Do you prefer to work in a group?

You might prefer to work on your MidLife Transition in a group, where you will get and give support, have the benefit of brainstorming ideas, and the opportunity to team up with others who are going through similar changes.

Open workshops are run throughout the year – see schedule below. We can also run workshops within your organisation, with the content tailored to your requirements.

Getting Ready for Change

Most of us find change difficult to handle, even when we know the outcome will be positive.

This interactive workshop will provide an opportunity for you to explore and understand what’s involved in making the change you want,  as well as some practical tools for planning and managing this process. We will cover topics such as:

  • Understanding the emotional impact of making life transitions
  • Letting go of the past and acknowledging the loss and changes you face
  • Clarifying how your existing role defines who you are and meets your needs for recognition, social contact, structure etc. and how you can meet those needs going forward
  • Understanding your values and what’s important to you
  • Understanding and managing the stress associated with transitions
  • Overcoming ambivalence and procrastination
  • Exploring expectations and changes in roles and relationships e.g. friends & family
  • Building a support network
  • Creating your own transition plan

Your Best Retirement EVER!

Most people spend longer planning their holiday than their life after retirement. The average length of retirement now is 20+ years – plenty of time to achieve your dreams. A recent survey shows that for over a quarter of retired people the reality of retirement has not lived up to those dreams. Many wish they had continued working.

It’s clear that retirement needs planning. In this workshop, run together with Jill Ellington, we will cover:

  • Identifying your dream life and how to turn it into reality
  • Financial preparation for retirement
  • Creating a plan for achieving your dream
  • Taking the first step on the road

Jill Ellington is an experienced Chartered Financial Planner who regularly helps people to make sense of their finances and plan for a secure and fulfilling retirement. She has over 25 years’ experience in the Financial Services Profession and won Moneyplanner of the Year in 2016.

The workshop will be running on 30 September 2019 at Wokingham Town Hall, 10.00-14.00 including lunch. Further dates will be arranged for October and November.
